Meet the Team!

Each month, Remote Counsel will feature one of our team members on the blog to let you get to know us a little better. 

This month's spotlight is on Jeff Gibbs! Many of our partners speak with Jeff on a regular basis, as he's one of the superheroes of our Support Department. Read on to find out why Jeff likes working at Remote Counsel, what his least favorite chore is, and his biggest guilty pleasure.

What is your role at Remote Counsel?

Manager, Customer Service

Describe yourself in 50 words or less:

I'm definitely dependable, sometimes stubborn, and always a cynic.  Although my cynicism only runs so deep.  You might describe me as a "benefit of the doubt" cynic...if there is such a thing.

Why do you like working at Remote Counsel?

Great camaraderie, and management team.  We have the pleasure of working on a team of people that sincerely care about our clients, their best interests, and the success of the company and team.

If you could be any fictional character, who would you choose?

Bilbo Baggins

What's the best meal you've ever had at a restaurant?  

Growing up in Southern California, Mexican food is a staple and very different from the Mexican food here in the south.  My favorite place is a dirty hole in the wall called El Burrito in Redlands, CA.  Their "Special" Burrito and Chicken Tacos with guacamole are to die for.  I always try to make it  to Redlands when I visit Southern California.

What is your favorite thing about the court reporting industry? 

It never gets boring.  As soon as you think you've seen it all, a new challenge emerges.

What chore do you absolutely HATE doing? 

Dishes.  I don't mind cooking, in fact it's not uncommon for me to whip up a meal for the family...but please don't make me clean the mess up afterwards.

What is your favorite Remote Counsel memory? 

In the early years, it wasn't uncommon to have spur of the moment "company outings".  I remember the Braves were playing an early afternoon game.  We called our NY office and told them we would be offline for a few hours and to please cover.  Everyone piled in to a couple cars and we made are way to the stadium. Definitely a memorable "work" day.

What is the #1 item on your bucket list? 

Make it long enough to see my kids complete college and start families of their own.

What is your biggest guilty pleasure?

Definitely gaming.  I've logged more hours then I care to admit on my Steam library.

What is your favorite book or movie?

How would your coworkers describe you?

"El Burro".  First one in, last one out.

What would people be surprised to know about you?

I am an avid RC airplane fan .  My son and I have a collection of "foamies" we take out on a regular basis.  We've even built a couple from scratch...no template, no blueprint.
