Each month, Remote Counsel will feature one of our team members on the blog to let you get to know us a little better.
First up is Dan Kemp! You might know him as a sales guru, but around here he's also known as the office jokester, a proud father, and more. Read on to get the inside scoop on one of your favorite Account Managers.
What is your role at Remote Counsel?
I am the Senior Sales & Account Manager, Remote Counsel Assistant Director.
Describe yourself in 50 words or less:
When somebody asks me to describe myself in 50 words or less, I find it to be incredibly challenging. On one hand, it’s tough to describe myself, within 50 words. However, if I go far UNDER 50 words, I look like an underachiever. Oops, I just used up 50 words.
Why do you like working at Remote Counsel?
Remote Counsel is like a second family to me (well, maybe a third family, since my wife’s family is like my second family). We’re a tight-knit team, and we strive to offer the best solutions out there to the court reporting industry, and have fun doing so.
If you could be any fictional character, who would you choose?
Batman, always Batman – except for the whole ‘parents being murdered’ part.
What's the best meal you've ever had at a restaurant?
It would have to be the ‘all you can eat meat’ at Fogo De Chao. I love me some steak.
What is your favorite thing about the court reporting industry?
Court reporters are the perfect combination of consummate professional mixed with down-to-earth-let-me-buy-you-a-beer. And, because of how this business works, you develop deep relationships, and occasionally lifelong friendships with many court reporting professionals.
What chore do you absolutely HATE doing?
Emptying the vacuum cleaner – I love vacuuming, but don’t ask me to dump it afterwards – YUCK!
What is your favorite Remote Counsel memory?
My first NCRA Firm Owners conference, this past February.
What is the #1 item on your bucket list?
Star on a reality TV show.
What is your biggest guilty pleasure?
I play video games - a lot.
What is your favorite book?
Jurassic Park, by Michael Crichton.
How would your coworkers describe you?
The guy that brings the energy and excitement every day he's in the office.
What would people be surprised to know about you?
I’ve been a radio DJ off and on since I was 18 years old, working at stations in New York and Atlanta.
